What's your challenge for 2019?

Now that the festive season frenzy is over, and you have (hopefully) recovered from the inevitable Christmas food coma, you may be looking for something to kick start that creative muse.  Challenges are a fun way to get refocused and are a fabulous source of camaraderie and inspiration.  And with the advent of social media and the Internet there is something to appeal to everyone.  Here are a few ideas and links that may interest you:

Pat's mix it up challenge

  • Our first WWTAG challenge for 2019 was proposed by Pat Skene at our November meeting.  Using whatever technique you like to use when experimenting with colour try applying it to a different medium.  For example, if you like to dye fabric with Procion dyes try using it on paper and see what happens; if you like using watercolour pencils on paper try them out on calico or canvas.  For those who can't make it to our regular meetings and want to join in feel free to post photos of your work on Instagram tagged with #WWTAG or on our Facebook page
Into stitching?

Felting

  • The Felting and Fiber Forum run quarterly challenges - for 2019 the theme is "scapes" with the first challenge being landscapes - click here for more information

  1. My challenge (resolution??!!) for 2019 is to use each new technique I’ve picked up in workshops, etc during 2018 in a completed piece and showcase it on my blog leascreativemoments.wordpress.com and on instagram @leajen55

  2. I've got myself committed to a mix of challenges this year. Enrolled in a year long online course - mixed media! really excited! Plus decided to embrace the 1 Year of Stitch - again , after a year off. I'm including TAST in that. Plus committed myself to a monthly fabric art piece! Keeping myself busy and inspired 😜
