While I'm on a roll (!), here's another take on the spool.

Tanglewood Threads stitches a beautiful record of the year. She calls them scratchings. Here's an example from 2012.

Hi Wild Women I'm happy to report that my recent entries into the Gold Coast Show awarded me 2nd and 3rd prizes in millinery and a great big 1st in the dream catcher section.  Wasn't fit enough to go to the show when it was on, so it was a real thrill when collecting them to see their certificates attached.   Patti x  For those who may of missed it - click here to see photos of Patti's show entries.
