Felt collage in exhibition
Hi everyone,
I popped along to the Gold Coast City Council Officers' Exhibition today at Robina Public Library. Much talent was on display including our very own Leona. Leona's work is titled "Stone and Sky" and is a felted collage of silk and wool mounted on canvas. In case you missed the exhibition, here is Leona's work below for you to admire and enjoy.

That's wonderful, I love the way the colours and shapes create such movement. And thanks for the share, I for one wasn't able to get there.
ReplyDeleteThank you both 😊 this was the piece I did at the Chis Lines collage workshop at the Felt Makers Convergence at Toowoomba in September. It is done with prefelts. My inspiration was an image on Instagram by stonelooklike which had cuts of violet onix marble superimposed over a cloudy sunset.
ReplyDeleteThe colours and sense of movement in the piece are amazing! What size is it, Leona - unfortunately I couldn't get to the exhibition.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maggie! The canvas is 550 mm w x 420 mm high. We only had limited space to work on and it shrank a fair bit.
